Tour Plan
Day 1: Arrival in Colombo – Transfer to Sigiriya
- Morning: After arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, transfer to Sigiriya (approx. 4 hours).
- Afternoon: Visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore the ancient frescoes, ruins, and water gardens.
- Overnight: Sigiriya.
Day 2: Sigiriya – Dambulla Cave Temple – Kandy
- Morning: Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its stunning Buddhist murals and statues. It’s another UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Transfer: Drive to Kandy (about 2.5 hours).
- Afternoon: Stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, known for its diverse collection of flora.
- Evening: Watch a cultural dance performance in Kandy, featuring traditional Kandyan dance and drumming.
- Overnight: Kandy.
Day 3: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
- Morning: Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, an important Buddhist temple housing a relic of Buddha’s tooth.
- Transfer: Travel to Nuwara Eliya (2.5-hour scenic drive).
- Afternoon: Explore tea plantations and a tea factory, followed by a visit to the Seetha Amman Temple and a stroll through Nuwara Eliya town, also called “Little England” for its colonial architecture.
- Overnight: Nuwara Eliya.
Day 4: Nuwara Eliya – Ella
- Morning: Take the scenic train journey from Nuwara Eliya (Nanu Oya station) to Ella, passing through picturesque tea estates, forests, and tunnels.
- Afternoon: Hike to Little Adam’s Peak for panoramic views and visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge.
- Overnight: Ella.
Day 5: Ella – Yala National Park – Galle
- Morning: Transfer to Yala National Park (3-hour drive) for a thrilling wildlife safari. Look out for leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and exotic bird species.
- Afternoon: Drive to the coastal town of Galle (3-hour drive) and explore the historic Galle Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
- Overnight: Galle.
Day 6: Galle – Bentota – Colombo Departure
- Morning: Enjoy some beach time in Galle or visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery.
- Transfer: Drive to Colombo and take a short city tour, visiting landmarks like Galle Face Green, Independence Square, and the Gangaramaya Temple.
- Evening: Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
